Over time, I have grown, and in doing so, I have developed an increasing knowledge of my likes, dislikes, my proposed intentions, and, to some extent the exact nature of my true intentions. Others may or may not define me as I assume to be. That is not my business. In striving to be the best person I have the capability of becoming, there will be a trial and error period. Knowing ones’ true self comes through the painful recognition that you are or have been doing yourself a disservice. Emulating others is a dangerous game that we lose ourselves in. All too often, we forget our true values and our true purpose. Stepping into and owning what you value most creates self-esteem and high regard for others who are like-minded.
