Don Miguel Ruiz’s Four Agreements have inspired me for many years. “Be impeccable with your word” is one of those agreements that I practice daily. Putting action behind our words matters. Saying what you mean and meaning what you say holds weight. Mixed messages are seldom appreciated. When we say one thing and do something entirely different, it causes distrust, a lack of confidence, and diminishes our word.
Spiritual principles aligned with practical application are guidelines for becoming self-aware. Learning to be impeccable with your word speaks volumes about your character. Practicing that one spiritual principle daily, throughout our day, will boost our self-esteem. The option is ours to make. When we choose to walk the way we talk, we lead a more meaningful, purpose-driven life. By doing so, we become living examples.
